My tomato woes

I should rename this blog to reflect the life of my patio plants. I was getting so excited about my growing tomato. However, today when I was watering it I felt something weird on the bottom. I took a picture, but it just grosses me out (like gives me the goosebumps grosses me out). You can go here for more details on what is wrong with my tomato plant. My poor tomato has Blossom End Rot. So what do I do? Should I let the tomato keep growing? Can I still eat the top if the bottom is rotten? The article linked above makes it seem like this is hard to get rid of. So will every tomato turn out with this? I am so sad. I need someone with a green thumb to help. Help please.

I haven't been on your blog in a long time! But you can buy a calcium powder for this - that you mix with water and simply spray on the plants - the next fruit of your garden should be fine. * I believe you can eat the "rotted" ones" - but I think you need to gauge that based on how bad the rot is. Hope this helps.

You're like an old lady. Most people your age blog about their crazy weekends, great summer vacation, or meeting a really hot guy or something. But no, not you. You blog about your tomato plant. :)

4 drops of Texaco transmission oil, placed on the root, and a little Crest toothpaste on the trunk. Then I'd spray some Right Guard on it. Try this, and see if it helps.
